All competitors must wear WTF / LDTKD approved head gear, chest protector, mouth guard, hand pads, elbow pads, foot pads, groin cup for male competitors and no visible jewelry.
LEGAL TECHNIQUE
Legal technique includes kicking to either the body or light contact to the head gear and punching to the body only. Punching to the face is not allowed.
LEGAL TARGETS
BODY: The legal body target consists of the front portion of the body going from the side seams of the uniform forward and from the bottom of the neck down to the belt. The neck, back and groin are not legal targets. The body targets may be attacked with either the hand or the foot and will be awarded 1 point.
HEAD: Light contact to the sides and front of the head gear with the foot will be awarded 2 points. Hand contact to the head is not a legal attack.
LEGAL STRIKING IMPLEMENTS
FOOT: Legal foot attack consists of sole, ball, knife-edge, instep, heel and arch.
FIST: Delivering techniques by using the front parts of the forefinger and middle finger of the tightly clenched fist (no open hand, knife hand, ridge hand, or palm heel strikes are allowed) using a reverse punch with the back hand.
SCORING
BODY: Any legal kick or straight punch landing within the authorized body target area will be awarded 1 point.
HEAD: Any legal kick landing within the autho- rized head target area will be awarded 2 points.
PROHIBITED ACTS
- Holding
- Escaping from fighting by turning back to opponent
- Stepping out of boundaries to escape fighting
- Attacking opponent with unauthorized attacking implement (knee, knifehand, backfist, etc.)
- Throwing or sweeping opponent
- Faking injury
- Stalling
- Attacking an unauthorized area (back, legs, groin, joints, back of head).
- Pushing
- Intentional falling
- Hand strike to head
- Unsportsmanlike conduct (gestures, questioning the referee, undesirable comments, etc.)
- Attacking a fallen opponent
- Intentional attack after the referee has stopped the match
- Malicious or excessive attack causing swelling or bleeding
SCORING PROCEDURE
Stop for points
During the match, referees will stop the fight each time they see a point scored and will call for corner judges to hold up the corresponding colored flag.
Either three (3) Corner Judges or two (2) Corner Judges and the Center Referee MUST agree for the point to be awarded. The winner is the competitor who earn the most points throughout the Two-Minute Match.
Continuous Fighting
During the match, referees will NOT stop the fight each time they see a point scored.
Corner Judges will push the corresponding-colored button on their controller. Two out of the three corner judges must push their button within 1.5 secs of each other for the point to be awarded.
The winner is the competitor who earns the most points throughout the best of 3 match series.
